Concept Sketches & Digital Image Manipulation (Not to scale).
Concept Sketches are a complete thought, or an idea quickly sketched from a photo, or onsite. Average cost is $95.00 - $285.00.
I’ll typically add some color and a few labels. I’ll often take a photo, or have a client send me a photo. I pull it up on my screen hand trace/ sketch it then add landscape details. Formal plans can be made from these sketches, however, more often than not, its a small space and projects are built from them using the sketch as a general idea. If it is just to translate an idea, I won’t indicate products and sizes. If all you want is “Ideas” Sketches are the way to go as they can be produced very quickly. I can produce 3 or 4 ideas within an hour or two. Multiple sketches of the same image provides a visual for 3 or 4 ideas quickly and can be a tool in developing a full plan. As mentioned, I’ve seen entire projects built from sketches.
Digital Image Manipulation is taking a photograph of your home or project area then overlaying it with images of plants, grass and sometimes hardscape to create a layered photo.
Manipulated images take a little more time and give you a little more of the real world look The digital image manipulation can be time consuming if a photo is taken in winter and I need to work around snow or if it’s a large area. Digital Manipulated images take a little more time but give you a little more of the real-world feel. With digital imaging, it’s important to have a photo that is straight on. Ideally, it’s a sunny day without harsh shadows noon time works well (this produces the best images). The second drawback with digital imaging is everything is in bloom at the same time. This would never happen, so its not a true snapshot but it does give you a feel for the color, look and texture of the plant.
